I now understand this Novella Series was written as a serial. (Soap Opera)That would explain the pace and needless explanations at the beginning of each installment after the first book. Also, the repetitious writing. If you eliminated those passages, each book would be maybe 75 pages. I actually enjoyed the story and concept. I'm just not a fan of this form of writing. Once I realized Cora STILL had not made up her mind at the beginning of this installment, I started to seriously lose my patience, which was all but gone at that point already. I just hate wasted words. If you are going to write a story, WRITE IT!
I don't remember ever writing anything negative about books before. I truly respect the time and effort of Authors. I have loved to read my entire life. This book is for people that loved soap operas in the 60's and 70's. I have to believe this form of writing has an audience or the Author would be self published. I did read all in this series. I wouldn't do it again. Too bad the storyline was good for paranormal romance. A Novel would have been really cool.

Wow I just finished reading all 6 books of Cora's Choice.....I fell in love with them. It's been a while since I read a really good vampire book and I love these ones. Just the right amount of everything. It's kinda like 50 shades meets twilight all put together. Can't wait to jump into the next set of books to this series.
This series is amazing. Take almost everything you thought you knew about vampires and throw it out the window. Now don't worry these are sparkling vampires. But the world they live in is divided and like humans some are good and some are bad. Only trouble is Cora is lost trying to figure out which is which and if she can live with what she has become.
I'm reading the Cora chronicals as I call them. I'm reading book after book. I'm on world enough time. It's fantastic.
The storyline gets better with each release,Dorian and Cora's relationship keeps building like a slow burning fire. In this book there are some very intense moments, Cora finde a way how to break the bond between her and Dorian. She has to make some difficult decision , and she has to choose between life with Dorian or life of a ordinary human...Uff it was heart breaking...The end is mind blowing....
The books are short, the plot is very good, the pace is between slow and steady. The part I don't like is the presentation of this Series, there seems to be 2 Series, Cora's Choice and Cora's Bond??? that are parallel to each other so I read book one of one list and then I read the following books on the other list, it's really a little confusing. They seem to be the same story, but they are not ? Now we are waiting for the last book in the Cora's Choice series.
My review for each of these books will be the same as the reason I have only given it a two star rating is the same all the way through and needs to be explained.
There was a lot to like in this series until the reality of it all hit. The books are short and whilst at first the idea of a continuing series is a novelty and quite easy to accept and even quite likable it begins to pall quite swiftly. By the time I had reached what appeared the end of this series I had long stopped enjoying spending my money. It is well written but if you add up what you pay then there are much, much better books out there about vampires. I felt taken for a ride especially when I discovered there was more about Cora yet to come. Seriously at the price you can buy ten books that have a longer and better developed plot with just as much sex and tension.
This review is purely about the price and fairness so the reader is prepared. If I wanted to spend that amount of money I would like to have had the choice and not feel forced into buying more, or if I want to know more then give me value for money. Don't give me a portion for the price of a whole.
cora so badly wants to have her cake and eat it too! she knows she doesn't want to leave dorian...but she wants her student status/life to continue. through the trials and errors of life in general and with a lot of help from dorian's foes, cora's decision on what to do is make...without a second thought! we all go through life "wanting"! we know there is a big picture...that there is life going on around us! we assume that it is "none of my business" and either try to forget it, run away from it...or be smart! learn about it! with communication being the best way to learn about something, situations going on around us or people and how they relate to us...cora and dorian finally get down to business...learn about each other...each others' past and present! as the picture unfolds both sides begin to see and then work with each other to the benefits of what each of them want or need! dorian...assuming that his past - is so far in the past - means nothing in the present...but cora learning of his past finally helps her to see dorian for who he truly is and can finally accept him. as dorian learns about cora and her past he is finally able to see what and why cora is the way she is and why she is fighting him for herself preservation. as in life...as soon as you open yourself up to the others around you you will find that what you think you may want can and may change...it probably will change! but it will be a change for the good for all concerned! through the machinations of one of dorian's foes...a valuable lesson is learned by both! "...just because I'm offering something different than how you imagined your life would be doesn't mean that I'm not offering something more." a thought that maybe we should think about and remember! ...last but not least Victoria gives us thought that gives a "positive" way to look at marriage...as it should be! "marriage...final, forever, a pledge that could not be broken, the choice irrevocably made...I would never feel with anyone else what I felt with him - not the passion nor the danger. no one would make me feel as wanted, nor would I ever want someone with the depth I felt for him..." how much better would our lives be if we could look at love and marriage like that??? cora and dorian finally realize and come to terms with each other because of the depth of their love for each other! continue on with Victoria m. black and her ongoing story of life and love through cora and dorian!
